In college, or continuing education there is no place for life reflections, death and dying, quality of life, nevertheless those are the day- by -day questions we face in our profession.

Caring for the caregiver
Casa do Cuidar offers a special program for families, caregivers and health care professionals who are working directly with patients in palliative care.
In order to give good care to others we have first, take care of ourselves, attending to our needs and healing our pains. This is the healthiest way to continue caring of others. It is fundamental for palliative care teams to be aware of emotional and physical needs in order not to somatize or go under burn out. Caregivers´nature is always giving, sometimes getting to the point of exhaustion.
Finitude Project
Doctors and residents attend to meetings coordinated by a doctor and a psychologist, with the purpose of discussing our own limitations in the face of the inevitability of death, and the difficulties about facing our own passage.
